This is a preview of the shoot I just finished today here in Hong Kong! No other shoulder pads than the  perfect Balmain ones (!)  It's already my last days here and I am trying to take advantage of everything possible, so I can to get to know a little more of Hong Kong. It has become such a dream city for me.

 I'm so excited to share later the final result of the shoot and the whole story about everything I've been doing!

In an effort to support the heat in Hong Kong today -with 35°C -, we went under this green corridor before entering the IFC building. 

This  silk vintage Christian Dior poncho works first as a sun shield while still being able to feel the fresh air, and while walking, it looks like a floating cape that from far away is like a really colorful hero costume. Exactly right for a coming season where I'm really into the super hero theme (if you saw at my instagram - @dennielias, I actually just came back from watching The Dark Knight rises, cantonese subtitles!)

One of the things I never expected to find in Hong Kong. Every spot in the shopping streets and malls has such a good selection of must haves that I would like to take everything. But for now, white shoes is a perfect beginning.

I kept walking around the Central area under a smooth rain yesterday afternoon. While weather in Hong Kong is normally much warmer - last week it was 34°C , and then after the Typhoon that passed by on monday/tuesday it's been more like 28°C,it still is too good to visit every nice spot from the city. It is my first time here and everything seems so different and new. 
The few shopping malls and boutiques I've visited while I'm here remark the luxury while shopping, and I'm impressed of the huge amount of runway must-haves from every brand. I finally found the shoes that I searched everywhere for, and that were sold-out in all the other cities I visited this season!

on China's newspaper front cover

It was just 8 am today,  and as I stepped out of my room ready for the day here in Hong Kong, I picked up the newspaper. And suddenly - and definitely - , IT WAS ME ON THE FRONT COVER(!). 

The largest international newspaper in China was everywhere and had a "Denni Elias face" of the JOYCE advertising campaign on it. It was something surreal and an indescriptible moment where I realized that doing what you love and being passionate about it works every time, no matter in which way. 

Thank you so much for the persons that have already started writing me about the first advertisings they have seen, and for the always encouraging words(I just saw a picture of the ad covering a complete bus in Hong Kong busiest area as well!).

Hong Kong at night

I became too attracted to the view from my room yesterday night. The inmense and endless flashing buildings everywhere around Hong Kong give me sense of relaxation and time to think about anything. It's 6am here and I'm about to prepare a visit to the gym, and then to start a few meetings, visit a little more of the city, and then an special dinner with the JOYCE team, to start celebrating the release of the advertising campaign I'm in. 

I didn't want to leave the room without showing you this view!

Although it rained for some hours in the morning here in Hong Kong ( and actually a big storm passed by yesterday), the weather feels like the perfect tropical one. To start in a calm way, I walked around the  Pacific Place shopping mall besides our hotel and started experiencing all the HK famous luxury side. 

I came back to my suite to find amazing presents from JOYCE boutique and from the Upper House hotel - apart from the warm milk and fresh made cookies I just received on the door. Travel dreams come true!

Hong Kong ready

I arrived in Hong Kong two hours ago, and now I'm about to take a bath after a long trip. Just look at this view from my bathroom!  My suite at the Upper House hotel is a real Hong Kong dream.

I'm writing this post at the Charles de Gaulle airport while waiting for my flight to Hong Kong. I'm excited to start and share this new adventure with you! It is so crazy and exciting to be back in China again for the second time just after one month of being in Beijing.

I took these photos back then with this amazing Pucci hat my mom gave me earlier this summer. 

I love and miss this scenery, it's what I had been looking forward for all the winter!

Denni Elias for JOYCE advertising campaign

Just as promised, here is another official ad from my JOYCE advertising campaign. I never thought I would look like this in a photo and with this wet hairstyle (J'adore!). Thanks to Chen Man for the amazing photographs and again to each person in the JOYCE team. This is becoming such a surreal experience. 

I can't decide between the 2 different ads! - It's hard to pick my favorite. Which is yours?

Just after snapping these photos and walking around my neighborhood, I ended up having Thai for dinner, where my spicy chicken coconut soup was served in a real coconut and the thai flan for dessert had flowers on  the side (and everything was luscious). Details like this that make your dinner a whole experience. Which are restaurants/dinners that you remember the most?
 - I look at the photos and instantly think of "safari" -

 It's time for celebration today 14th july here in France and the day will hopefully end watching the fireworks in the Eiffel tower from some nice spot.  The sun finally came out in Paris- or at least for some 5 hours now- , so it was time to take a long walk with Pony after having breakfast in my favorite terrace restaurant around the corner. Enjoy your weekend!

Denni Elias for JOYCE advertising campaign

About one month ago I was contacted by JOYCE boutique,  the far-famed major luxury department stores in all China, and was invited to be the face for their advertising campaign, which was also a huge and special collaboration, as they teamed up with  Romeo Gigli to create a unique collection and bring back the tradition of this great designer- JOYCE by Romeo Gigli - .  Along with me, spectalurar figures like supermodel Ji Li Li , Charley Casely Hayford and Matthew Avedon took part in it.


As you may have seen, last month I finally travelled to Beijing to be able to be shot by Chen Man, who is photographer for countless magazine covers like I-D, L'Officiel, Harper's Bazaar and Elle. Needless to say, spending time together and working with this amazing team was one unbelievable experience.


I'm still so honored to be chosen by JOYCE for my first big international advertising campaign.  I'm excited to be on billboards, buses and stores everywhere in such big cities like Shanghai, Hong Kong and Beijing - and soon in Venice, Italy!-.

A Legend Returns: JOYCE collaborates with fashion designer Romeo Gigli on an worldwide exclusive fashion collection — JOYCE by Romeo Gigli

JOYCE is making international headlines with the launch of its groundbreaking fashion collaboration ,which JOYCE team up with legendary designer, Romeo Gigli to design the exclusive “JOYCE by Romeo Gigli” collection .The collection will launch for the autumn/winter season and is set to be one of the most exciting fashion projects of the year. The collection will debut globally online on JOYCE.com for pre-order from 13th – 23rd July before launching in JOYCE stores. Romeo Gigli will also make several public appearances to meet with VIPs and media, as well as fashion students at various universities in Hong Kong and Beijing. It's the middle of July and it feels like a september weather! I've been working this week on some projects and have had a few meetings, added to other things like visiting an antique flea market that was temporarily in Madeleine , and where I found the prettiest hand painted cream colored table with small details of flowers on it (you surely saw it on my instagram account @dennielias).  It seems after being a collector of vintage clothing, I have suddenly created also a thing for vintage furniture - which in Paris is just too good.
